Lao Unicode Keyboard 2005 & Saysettha OT Font - Install Guide This installation is for Windows XP only. For 2000 users click here. 98 users still need the Web-Key to write lao online, it can be found when posting in the forums. Please use the "font only" installer at the bottom of this page.

First you will need to install the Thai Keyboard layout because this Lao Keyboard layout was designed to be used the same way in the Microsoft Langauge Bar.

1. Go to the Control Panel and double-click on the Regional and Language Options item.

2. On the Regional & Language options window, Click on the Languages tab, and under Supplemental language support, check the Install Files for Comples Script and right-to-left languages (including Thai) then click the Ok button (windows XP setup CD maybe required) and reboot when requested.

3. After computer reboots, return to control panel and back to the Regional and Language Options. On the Languages tab Click on the Details button.

4. A Text Services and Input Language window will open. Click on the Add button.

5. For Input Langauge leave as English (United States), for Keyboard layout/IME select Thai Kedmanee then click the OK button. If you already have Thai Kedmanee, skip this step.

6. The Thai Kedmanee Layout will appear in the Layout list. Click the OK button to accept.

7. Click on the image here to download and install the Lao Unicode Keyboard 2005 this will also install the Saysettha OT font to your PC (when done installing, requires a reboot)

(lao_key.exe) <-- This file is includes the keyboard as well as font. (but to install only the font, click on the link at the bottom of this page. (lao_font.exe))

8. After computer reboots, repeat steps 3 - 5 but instead of Thai Kedmanee, select Lao Unicode Keyboard 2005 instead. Then click the OK button.

9. Confirm that the Lao Unicode Keyboard is in the List, then click on the OK button.

10. On the toolbar at the bottom you will see an icon for the Language Bar, Select the langauge you want to use
